But in our time something new has been added. What Moses and the prophets witnessed to all those years has happened. The God-setting-things-right that we read about has become Jesus-setting-things-right for us. And not only for us, but for everyone who believes in him. For there is no difference between us and them in this. Since we’ve compiled this long and sorry record as sinners (both us and them) and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:23 MSG

This verse is so fitting for today. Today is my wedding anniversary. You might think this is a weird verse for a day like today , but not I. When you have come from where I have been, you see things a bit differently. When you have a relationship that started out in such a shameful and sinful manner and have seen Gods grace poured out on you, you view things differently. When you have experienced Gods mercy and have felt his redemptive powers wash over you, you view things differently. When you look back on where you were 4 years ago and know you ( and your spouse) have grown & changed because of the love of Jesus, you view things differently.

So yes, today on my wedding anniversary, i view a verse about God’s grace as fitting for my self, for my husband and for my marriage. I am so greatful for God’s grace, mercy, and love.

And Man-happy anniversary! I’m so thankful God brought us from that place, that he has changed us, and blessed us with this life and this love. Most people in this world dont get the 2nd chance like we did and I will forever be greatful for God’s redemptive powers. I love you honey, thanks for working so hard to provide for our family, thanks for trusting in God thru all the hard times, and thanks for loving me almost as unconditionally as Jesus does. Here’s to us! πŸ˜πŸ˜™πŸ˜˜πŸ˜πŸ˜™πŸ˜˜
